Freya Kelly has worked at The Ottawa Hospital in various departments since June 2015, and has worked in cardiology since October 2016. Freya joined the Prevention and Wellness Centre at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute in June 2017 as a Nurse Educator and health coach. She also facilitates the development, planning and implementation of educational programs for the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease. Between June 2010 and September 2016, Freya worked with Dr. Susan Dent, entering data for patients who had been seen at the Ottawa Cardiac-Oncology Program. She has also worked with Dr. Dawn Stacey, whose research focuses on supporting patients’ decision making with decision support tools and coaching.
Freya holds an Honours BHSc and a BScN from the University of Ottawa. She is currently enrolled in the Master’s of Science in Nursing program at the University of Ottawa. Freya’s research focuses on supporting nurses guiding cancer survivors with the self-management of their cardiotoxic-related symptoms.
